Founded by the absolutely inspirational Geraldine Cox, Sunrise currently has two children’s villages - one outside Phnom Penh which is home to 131 super children and another in Siem Reap which is home to 80 more wonderful children. Both villages are expanding as sadly there are still lots of children needing not only food and shelter, but love, support, friends and of course education too.
A third centre is planned in, which will be built on land donated by the Khmer government. This is a 5 hectare site in Sianoukville Province where Sunrise hope to look after a further 200 more children by the end of 2009.

Following are some of the things that Sunrise provides for the children in their care:
- Love
- Food
- Shelter
- Inoculation against Polio, TB, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B
- Clothing (includes provision of 2 school uniforms)
- Medical and dental care
- Education at government school
- Evening English language classes
- Traditional Cambodian music and dance lessons
- Sewing classes
- Field trips
- Personal counseling when required
- English- language library
- Physical exercise program, health & hygiene instruction, family planning and HIV aids awareness
- Computer school
- Carpentry school
- Agricultural training
- Life skills weekend workshops
The children at Sunrise may have been living in extreme poverty, or have been orphaned, abandoned or abused. To watch them play after just a few weeks in Geraldine's care, you might find it hard to believe they had such difficult beginnings in life.
Sunrise run schools within their villages and subjects include music, dance, sewing and carpentry. Sunrise welcome all poor and disadvantaged children from nearby villages to come and study completely free of charge. This helps to ensure that the wider community benefit from the charity too.
Sunrise are extremely careful with the money they raise, and keep their administrative costs under ten percent. The charity is registered in Australia with tax deductibility approvals for people paying taxes in Australia, USA, UK, and soon they will have the same for Hong Kong and Canada.
Claire Brown Realty charges a sourcing fee for clients investing in property. For each transaction the fee is $250.00. We very kindly ask that this is paid directly to Sunrise Children's Village and the TT remittance advice is sent to us, so we can track the payments.
